I have to say that I think Ivy's "Edge of the Ocean" in this episode is the most perfect use of a song in the show's history. I get chills everytime I hear it and it made me really feel for Logan for the first time this season.
Definitely one of my faves! I thought it sounded familiar, but couldn't place where I had first heard it. And then I saw some early eps of VM, and caught it being played during the scene where Veronica was driving Duncan to the hospital for the head wound.
Ivy is good, but they're solely a side-project. We need more major bands, not just the singers... Like tonight's Old 97's.
Tell that to Andy and Dominique. Or even Adam. I don't agree with that at all.
Hey, is there any room to put that the song was intended to be "Kill the Roses" by Something Happens? Something seemed to have happened with rights issues, but the whole scene had been edited PERFECTLY for that song. If you start the scene with the first chord of the song (between 0:07 and 0:08), it all matches in amazing form. It seems to be a shame that the original vision for the scene isn't really known. I for one, am very sad to see that they couldn't use that song. It would have been fantastic.
Although I did like 'edge of the ocean' by ivy, I still think that 'run' by air was the best music they could have possibly put at the end of the episode 'nobody puts baby in a corner.' I think that ending was just a masterpiece!
wow this site is great. I heard Ivy's song first on Grey's Anatomy and I thought it was alright. But it fit so well in this episode. I've been watching this episode on DVD just to hear the song! I'm glad I finally was able to download it
Interesting that "Edge of the Ocean" is also used in the first season in "Meet John Smith"
